Summary:
Some 40 years has passed since the publication of the first edition of this text. At the time, in 1975, there was no Australian book that sought to collect together the general doctrines and remedies of equity. As none of the original authors remain, the fifth edition takes on a new look and has been completely or substantially reorganized and rewritten. It is fair to say that the current edition is less opinionated than the early editions. Having said that, the text remains an invaluable resource.
