Summary:
David Foxton QC is one of the leaders of the commercial Bar in London, and well known to a number of Queensland lawyers who studied or practised in England. His subject is the formidable Lord Justice Scrutton - a Judge described as "the greatest English-speaking commercial judge of a century" and a member of one of the more influential Courts of Appeal (with Atkin and Bankes LJJ). Scrutton was a difficult man, and perhaps for this reason was not elevated to the House of Lords. In this well-written biography, however, he is portrayed in a balanced and sympathetic way.
