The AVERT Family Violence training package is aimed at practitioners and officers at all levels of the family law system in Australia. It features training programs on family violence, its impact, and promoting safety in service provision - ranging from 2-hour seminars up to a 5-day intensive workshop. It also features learning materials, training exercises, videos, and assessments. Topics include prevalence of family violence, definitions, impact on women and children, the impact of common beliefs and myths on service provision, engaging perpetrators, responding to diversity, screening and risk assessment, safety planning, and collaboration and joined-up case management.
