Label sewn inside robe, printed with makers name, and "Justice R.T. Gore 24.5.49 (B)". This robe originally belonged to the Hon Ralph Gore, who was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1915, and associate to Sir Samuel Griffith 1915-16. In 1928 he was appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Papua, and in 1945 he became judge of the Supreme Court of Papua and New Guinea. He retired in 1962.

The robe was in the collection of the Royal Historical Society of Queensland before being transferred to the Queensland Museum. The Queensland Museum donated the robe to the Supreme Court Library Queensland in 2003.
