White horsehair bench wig, also known as a tyewig. A satin label sewn inside wig reads 'Patentee / Ravenscroft / 1 Star Yard / Lincoln's Inn Fields'. Tin is made of metal, painted black and covered in discoloured beige woven fabric. Gold lettering inside tin lid reads, 'Ravenscroft / Law / Wig & robe makers / Lincoln's Inn / London'. The wig was manufactured prior to 1902 as Ravenscroft became Ede & Ravenscroft in 1902. Rusted metal padlock and key. Key is attached to worn cardboard rectangle with handwritten 'Keys of padlock of C.J's Tyewig Tin.'
The wig belonged to the Honourable Hugh Macrossan, former Chief Justice (1940), Senior Puisne Judge (1926-1940) and Judge (1926) of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
