The interval between the giving in Mr Ferguson's petition to the boxes on Friday, and the meeting of the court on Tuesday, allowed sufficient time for answering it. The respondent thought it would lessen the trouble of the court, to give in these answers, that the cause might be finally determined upon the question of seeing or refusing the petition. February 1. 1762. Answers for William Elliot of Arkleton, to the petition of James Ferguson of Craigdarroch.
